ABOUT LILLIAN FEISTY

Lillian Feisty was born in the San Francisco Bay Area. Like a piece of driftwood, she has washed up on nearly every beach between Santa Cruz and the Oregon border.

Because she never attended any particular elementary school for more than a few months at a time, she amused herself during lonely recesses by writing what would nowadays be labeled fanfic featuring Michael Knight and Han Solo. Sometimes in the same story.

She owned an own art gallery for several years, holds a degree in Creative Arts and was just a few units short of her MA when she decided to drop out of school to write erotic romance.

Her first novella was published in March 2007 and she’s been hard at work ever since. She is the president of Passionate Ink, a special interest chapter of Romance Writers of America, and is also a moderator for the award-winning website, Romance Divas.

Ms. Feisty currently resides in Northern Nevada. When she’s not writing you might find her conducting "research" at the most unlikely places, staring out windows, or making Martinis.

AN INTERVIEW WITH
LILLIAN FEISTY
By Jax Cassidy
Published: May 2008

What is your writing day like? Do you have any habits or rituals?

I really don’t have a typical day. It really depends on how close I am to deadline. But I always start by checking Romance Divas and Passionate Ink. Then I try to spend the rest of the day writing. I usually write about thirty minutes to an hour before I take a break and check in at RD again!

What do you have in store for readers? What's available now and what do we have to look forward to?

My screwball comedy, I Love Lacy is available now from Ellora’s Cave. Also, Play Me will be available from Grand Central Publishing next year, along with a second book, possibly with some of the characters from Play Me.

Describe for us your ultimate hero. What qualities would he have?

See Mark St. Crow, my hero in Play Me. But really, humor is the most important thing. And truly funny people are usually smart, so I like them smart and funny. Oh, and tattoos.

Will you be making any appearances this year?

I’ll be at RWA this July.

What about this business did you not know going in that all writers should know?

That it never gets easier, the stakes are just higher.

What do you have lined up next?

I have another contemporary romance I’ll be writing for Grand Central. I also have a Spice Brief called Taken which should be available any day! It’s a ménage and it’s really hot!

What is your best piece of advice for an aspiring writer?
